Job Description



BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems (SMS) is seeking a Technical Project Manager to oversee and guide Research & Development (R&D) projects, coordinate resources, and schedule activities for a multi-disciplinary engineering and manufacturing-oriented team. The Project Manager serves as a vital link between clients and technical teams.



In this role, you will be responsible for managing multiple technically oriented project teams, project progress, timelines, emerging issues, and ensuring the seamless execution of daily engineering and operational tasks.



Additionally, you will collaborate with customers and team members to provide project support and facilitate the implementation of new technologies as needed.

What You'll Do:



Project Planning and Execution: Plan, execute, monitor, control, document, and communicate all aspects of projects, including cost, schedule, scope, technical performance, and resource use. Liaison and Communication: Act as a liaison between program managers, functional management, project teams, and customers. Project Synchronization: Ensure synchronization of the project with the overall program, as applicable. Issue Resolution: Assess issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Schedule Management: Maintain top-level schedules across multiple projects and develop, manage, document, and communicate project schedules monthly. Project Status Reporting: Prepare and communicate project status reports weekly. Risk Management: Plan, monitor, document, and execute mitigation plans for project risks. Configuration Management: Participate in configuration management activities per the Configuration and Data Management Plan. Process Improvement: Recommend changes and enhancements to project operations. Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment:

This position requires regular in-person engagement by working

on-site five days

each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations will be required.

Working Conditions:



This is a part-time position - 15-25 hours per week. The job requires duties to be performed primarily at a customer secure facility.
Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.





Required Education, Experience, & Skills



BS/BA in related field plus 6 years or more related experience. Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required. 3+ years of professional experience as a Project Manager or similar position. 3+ years of professional experience preparing and developing documentation and metrics related to U.S. Government contracts/task orders deliverables, reports, and proposals. Experience developing and delivering technical scope of work. Hands-on experience managing complex projects. Experience with Cost, Schedule, and Performance Management. Experience developing detailed schedules and tracking and reporting status. Ability to work independently as well as part of a larger team. Solid communication skills.

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or industry-recognized equivalent.


Pay Information



Full-Time Salary Range: $105254 - $178931



Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
