Project Manager - Historic Restoration Construction
Location: Nashville, TN
The Tradesmen Group LLC (TTG) is seeking a dependable, self-directed
Project Manager
with an entrepreneurial mindset to join our leadership team. Based out of our headquarters in Plain City, Ohio, this role involves managing multiple restoration projects across the eastern half of the United States. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial or governmental building rehabilitation and be comfortable coordinating with self-performing crews, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. Experience in historic restoration is preferred but not required.
TTG is a 100% employee-owned, nationally recognized construction firm specializing in the restoration and rehabilitation of historically significant structures. With offices and yards serving Washington, D.C., Nashville/Chattanooga, TN, and Savannah, GA, TTG self-performs a wide range of trades including masonry restoration, roofing, architectural metals, carpentry, and painting.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage small to large-scale projects ensuring compliance with safety, quality, budget, schedule, and client satisfaction
Attend pre-proposal site visits and assist in evaluating RFP opportunities
Support contract development and post-award documentation
Process and manage all project submittals (Div 1 and technical)
Attend virtual and in-person pre-construction and progress meetings
Develop and maintain project schedules, including baseline and two-week look-ahead plans
Plan and implement site mobilization, logistics, and access strategies
Oversee project safety and quality control in collaboration with superintendents and safety officers
Source and manage materials, subcontractors, and staffing needs
Coordinate equipment usage and maintenance across job sites
Analyze plans to prepare estimates, change orders, and pricing proposals
Generate reports, monitor invoices and expenses, and manage project documentation
Submit RFIs, change orders, and track all submittals using project management software
Support senior leadership on larger-scale projects during all phases
Perform other duties as needed for projects in the DC/NCR area
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in construction or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 5 years of experience managing commercial or governmental restoration projects
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office365, Teams)
Experience with CPM scheduling, including cost-loaded schedules
Strong planning, analytical, and leadership skills
Familiarity with project management platforms and document handling tools
