If you have a passion for serving Veterans, consider this Project Manager opportunity with Great Plains Veterans Services Center (GPVSC). The Great Plains Veterans Services Center (GPVSC) was established in 2015, and recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization in February of 2016. The GPVSC is headquartered on the Rocky Boy\'s Indian Reservation in North Central Montana. The GPVSC established the Veterans Support Services (VSS) program in January 2017. The purpose of this program is to provide Veterans with access to all VA benefits they have earned; assists unemployed Veterans in becoming self-sufficient by transitioning them into the workforce; supports homeless Veterans or at-risk for homeless Veterans in attaining and maintaining housing; provides mental health and suicide prevention support and provides case management to assist Veterans in overall quality of life needs. The VSS program\xe2\x80\x99s service area includes three Indian Reservations and five rural Montana counties. In 2020, the GPVSC began operating its Veterans Transportation Services (VTS) program. This program provides transportation services to rural Montana Veterans for VA and VA-referred appointments. The VTS program\xe2\x80\x99s service area includes four Indian Reservations and 17 rural Montana counties. JOB OVERVIEW At the direction of the Executive Director, the Project Manager is responsible for managing project planning and design processes, including the oversight of contractors, construction vendors, architects, and/or engineers; administering construction contracts, operations, and projects; and managing project communication. This is a temporary position expected to last from 12-24 months from the date of hire. At the first-year mark, project and financial expectations will be reviewed to determine if the position will continue. This position will oversee the construction of an office building. Additionally, this position will conduct long-term planning to acquire additional acreage for construction to support GPVSC\'s strategic planning efforts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITES Knowledge of:

  • Construction project administration and contract administration principles.
  • Budget, fiscal management, and applying to multiple funding sources.
  • Federal, state, and private foundation grants and processes.
  • Contract and vendor management.
  • Methods and safety practices of construction and construction engineering.
  • State, federal, and industry standards and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Project management software.
Skill in:
  • Drawing conclusions and making recommendations.
  • Analyzing construction plans and projects.
  • Planning and managing multiple projects.
  • Interpreting complex designs, plans, statutes, and regulations.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
Ability to:
  • Negotiate solutions that will advance project plans.
  • Manage multiple projects and maintain focus on priorities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATAIONS The education and experience typical for this position is a:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field, and
  • Five years of experience in project management, construction, or other related areas.
  • Any combination of experience and training that provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Project Management Certification is preferred.
  • Must hold a Montana driver\'s license with no restrictions or obtain one within 60-90 days.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORKING CONDITIONS
  • The work environment takes place in an office environment and outdoors during inclement weather conditions.
  • Must be able to maneuver through construction sites.
  • Day travel is required to project sites.
  • Create and maintain a safe/secure working environment by adhering to safety, security, and health requirements. Integrate injury, illness, and loss prevention into job activities by attending any necessary training and implementing best practices.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Must hold a valid Montana driver\'s license and successfully complete a driver\'s history check.
