Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day project delivery across planning, design, procurement, construction, and closeout phases.
Develop, update, and monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, and performance metrics.
Review and track invoices, change orders, design submittals, RFIs, testing/inspection reports, and contractor progress documentation.
Facilitate coordination between the County, designers, contractors, and third-party agencies; lead regular progress and stakeholder meetings.
Conduct site visits to verify work-in-place, assess progress, and ensure adherence to contract documents and safety standards.
Identify and document project issues, risks, and deficiencies; support corrective action efforts and maintain detailed project logs.
Oversee punch list development, substantial completion activities, warranty items, and closeout documentation.
Ensure all County processes, reporting standards, and record-keeping requirements are met, including updates to project management systems.
Support procurement activities such as scope review, proposal evaluations, and contract coordination.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in
Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture
, Public Administration, or a related field.
Minimum
5 years of experience
managing capital improvement, infrastructure, or public-sector construction projects.
Strong understanding of design and construction processes, scheduling, cost management, and contract administration.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and regulatory standards.
Excellent communication, writing, and stakeholder coordination skills.
Proficiency with project management tools (MS Office, SharePoint/similar platforms).
Ability to conduct field inspections and manage work across multiple sites.
Preferred:
Experience working with counties, municipalities, or public agencies.
Familiarity with Texas public procurement and capital program processes.
Certifications such as
PMP

CCM
, or relevant construction or inspection credentials.
Experience with risk tracking, issue resolution, and change management processes.
