The Role

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Below are the CVN 80/81 specific responsibilities/qualifications for this position:

The candidate will be expected to be able to access and analyze performance data from value stream processes, departments and divisions and propose recommendations for improvements to meet Program cost, schedule, safety and quality goals. This includes working with multiple Value Stream stakeholders (Engineering, Planning, Quality, IDS, Trades and Construction) on their execution and drivers to performance, as well as the implementation of Integrated Digital Shipbuilding processes and products in their areas to support construction schedules. The candidate will also support the development of Program documents, presentations and other materials essential to the execution of the CVN 80/81 contract as well presenting to both internal and Navy leadership.

Applying Candidates will be asked to demonstrate their ability to execute Excel analysis skills and macros as well as show results of past experiences leading teams and developing and executing solutions to complex shipyard issues. The Candidate must have demonstrated strong leadership skills and be able to demonstrate their ability to work independently. Additionally, candidates must have strong verbal and written communications skills, and be able to convey complex concepts to both Trades and senior management. The Candidate must have experience using Powerpoint, Access, Excel and Power BI. Prior experience in Business Management, Planning or Production Control is highly desirable.

Must Have

Bachelor\'s Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience; Master\'s Degree and 8 year of relevant professional experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor\'s Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate\'s Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
Nice to Have

Six-Sigma certification, Auto-Cad and Integraph proficiency a plus.
