Project Intern - National Outcomes Measure Scale (NOMS)
Job Overview
This is a temporary part time position at 16 hours per week. This position will work at our Garlington Health Center in NE Portland. 6-month duration.
The Project Intern works under the umbrella of the Wellness team and in collaboration with the Wellness Manager to implement interventions and activities that enhance quality of life, increase integrated care, and improve whole health and wellness for clients. The goals of the Wellness work are to increase the overall health and wellness of Cascadia clients and to collect data, report, and show those improvements to funders, community partners and our internal community.
All incumbents must understand, appreciate and respect the diversity and cultural differences within our Cascadia community. It is expected that there is an awareness and sensitivity to the perspectives and perceptions to those we serve, as well as our colleagues. As Cascadia is Trauma informed, the incumbent must support a Trauma Informed Care Environment. With the high prevalence of trauma among individuals receiving behavioral health services, it is required that the incumbent understand the effects of trauma on health, coping, and other aspects of the lives of those we serve.
Essential Responsibilities

Administer National Outcomes Measure Scale (NOMS) tools to eligible clients, participate in data collection and reporting; follow format, training and procedures as established by the supervisor.
Coordinate client schedules to include arranging appointments, confirmation calls, and follow-up for no shows. Includes explaining the purpose of appointments to the client in clear and simple language.
Collect Data to support client/patient goals and satisfy grant requirements; share with leadership as necessary
Adhere to compliance, required laws and trainings, and the safety of property, staff, and client, all regulations, I.e. Mandatory abuse reporting laws and HIPAA, fire regulations, including all policies and under which the facilities is licensed and operates
Participate in all scheduled staff meetings, supervision sessions, and other departmental and agency meetings as indicated by the supervisor.
Ensures compliance of documentation. Must document and maintain clinical records in a manner that assures compliance with all agency policy and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations through use of Electronic Health Record System (EHR).
Complete all annual employee training requirements in order to understand how to conduct ethical work, for professional development, and maintain compliance.
Support Wellness Program initiatives and the resource room. Opportunities to perform Rapid Engagement Screenings.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements & Expectations
In order to be considered for an internship, each individual must:
Pass a Criminal Background Check (CBC): Interns shall receive a Criminal Background Check (CBC) through Oregon's Department of Human Services via Cascadia's People & Culture Department (at no cost to student). Placement at Cascadia is contingent upon submission of results of required CBC. Prior to receipt of a student's final fitness determination, if students receive preliminary approval, they may be engaged in orientation, training and work activities that do
not
include unsupervised contact with those receiving services. Students disqualified by DHS/Background Check Unit (BCU) will be immediately disengaged from placement. The student's placement may be reinstated if an appeal is processed by DHS/BCU and the disqualification is reversed. Please see FAQs for more info on the CBC.
Follow and adhere to Cascadia's confidentiality requirements, including the federal Health Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), Cascadia's client confidentiality policies, including any and all applicable Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) and Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) which support client confidentiality.
If accepted into an intern position, complete Cascadia's onboarding process, including agency orientation and student/intern documentation.
