The incumbent provides the overall coordination and completion of the project through the direction of the Construction Project Superintendent. This position has no responsibility for providing patient care.   • Organizes and plans projects to ensure that the job is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Acts as liaison to outside contractors in order to schedule and follow-up on the work to be done.
  • Visits assigned project sites regularly to ensure compliance to project plans and specifications, and checks for quality of construction, safety violations, and negative air.
  • Assists in the review of plans and specifications for construction and remodeling projects.
  • Ensures projects comply with specifications and requirements.
  • Attends plan review meetings with the architect and engineers to better understand the project and asks appropriate questions regarding construction functions.
  • Performs quality control functions.
  • Plans, assigns, schedules, and coordinates the daily work force on the job site.
  • Instructs and trains employees in the safe operation of construction equipment and tools.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to use standard computer applications.
  • Ability to lead the work of others.
Qualifications Qualifications Required
  • Six (6) years of experience working in construction trade areas.
  • Depending upon department of hire, a valid, State of Utah Driver\'s License may be required.
Qualifications (Preferred) Preferred
  • Apprenticeship or Journeyman certification in one or more of the trade areas.
  • Hospital construction experience.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.
  • This position involves very physical work that may exert up to 100 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects. The position may involve moving heavy equipment and/or supplies.
