Job Description


If you are a strategic thinker and an artistic designer with a passion for architecture, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Our client is seeking a Project Director to join their team. As a Project Director, you will work under the direct supervision of licensed Architects and interact with clients to gather design requirements, specifications, and budgets for their building projects. You will be responsible for planning and designing the layouts for buildings and landscapes, creating drawings, designs, and layouts, and complying with industry regulations. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent technical skills and be proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software. You should also possess excellent communication and customer service skills and the creativity to shape innovative designs.

Qualifications

  • A professional degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
  • A professional architectural license in Texas.
  • At least 15 years of project management experience in the architecture industry.
  • Knowledge of building engineering and architecture principles and practices.
  • Experience in leading medium to high-scale projects, such as hotels, stadiums, high-rise vertical residences, offices, shopping centers, etc.
Responsibilities
  • Lead all phases of the design process with a high level of proficiency and expertise while adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design.
  • Manage the development of assigned projects and the resources available to ensure timely compliance with the commitments agreed upon with the client and applicable regulations.
  • Manage all aspects of projects to ensure efficient execution within scope and budget.
  • Manage project teams, foster collaboration, and demonstrate strong and effective communication and direction which inspire high team performance, design ideas, and successful project delivery.
  • Communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, sub-consultants, and other disciplines to ensure effective communication.
  • Monitor construction administration during the construction phase.
  • Understand and respond to technical implications and design decisions.
  • Participate in marketing opportunities and develop successful client relationships for continuing business.
  • Control risk management by monitoring client issues and technical issues promptly to minimize liability.
  • Review work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and document compliance per the Project Delivery Manual.
  • Coordinate staffing resources with the Operations Director.
  • Mentor staff.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
