Mylan Park owns, programs, leases, and manages over 350 acres of mixed-use recreation, social, health, and wellness facilities for the Greater Morgantown community. Through a public-private partnership with WVU, Mylan Park is also home to various indoor and outdoor Intramural, Club Sports, NCAA Big 12 Collegiate Athletic programs, and the state's only 50M aquatic facility.


This partnership provides priority use of over 50 acres of field space, and more than 140,000 sq. ft. of state-of-the-art indoor facilities, for programs including WVU Swimming & Diving, indoor soccer, softball, rugby, flag football, WVU Women's Track & Field, cheer, boxing, outdoor soccer, lacrosse, roller derby, and more.

The

Programs Director


at Mylan Park Aquatics & Track Center plays a key role in planning, organizing, and executing a diverse array of recreational and competitive programs that serve the local community. This position oversees day-to-day program operations across the Aquatics and Track Centers, coordinates with internal teams and external partners, and ensures high-quality experiences for participants of all ages and abilities. The Programs Director reports directly to the General Manager.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities





Develop, schedule, and supervise a wide range of programs including fitness classes, swim lessons, track & field activities, camps, community wellness initiatives, and special events.
Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams to promote programs and boost participation.
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate part-time program staff, coaches, and instructors.
Monitor and assess program effectiveness through feedback, attendance, and performance metrics; make data-informed adjustments.
Serve as a liaison to community groups, athletic organizations, schools, and event partners.
Coordinate program logistics including facility scheduling, equipment setup, participant registration, and staffing.
Ensure all activities comply with organizational policies, safety protocols, and health regulations.
Assist in budget development and tracking for programs and special events.
Support major events such as swim meets, track competitions, and seasonal festivals.
Maintain accurate records of program attendance, staff certifications, and incident reports.

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Education, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in recreation programming or sports facility operations. Demonstrated leadership experience with staff supervision and team coordination. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience working with recreational software or registration systems CPR/AED and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire). Knowledge of aquatics or track & field operations is a plus.

Physical Demands



Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Must be able to move throughout the facilities, including pool decks, fields, and classrooms. Some evening and weekend availability required for programs and events.

### Dynamic indoor/outdoor recreational environment with variable noise levels and activity intensity. Fast-paced setting with frequent interactions with the public, athletes, and team members.
