WF260019 - Programmer Analyst 1 - Onsite Only - Kanawha

Exempt Position

At WorkForce, WV (WFWV), this position is in the Management Information Systems (MIS) unit. Under general supervision, at the entry level, performs computer programming work in the designing, writing of new and modifying of existing COBOL and CICS programs. Will write programs that generate reports and data extracts. Attends user meetings with supervision. May perform systems analysis tasks under direction. Will occasionally be on night calls. May perform other related tasks as assigned. This is an onsite only position. Please note, this is an Exempt position and is not covered under the merit system administered by the West Virginia Division of Personnel.

Special Requirement:

Employment requires a fingerprint-based criminal-background check to be provided at WorkForce West Virginia expense. Failing to initiate the process or cooperate with this process, providing false or incomplete information, or discovery of disqualifying information will result in denial of, or dismissal from, employment or denial of transfer irrespective of when discovered

Minimum Qualifications

Training:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or related field including but not limited to business data programming, business systems analysis, computer accounting, computer and information systems, computer servicing technologies, information systems management, data processing, or computer engineering.

OR

An Associate's degree from an accredited college, university or business school in computer science or related field including but not limited to business data programming, business systems analysis, computer accounting, computer and information systems, computer servicing technologies, information systems management, data processing, or computer engineering and eighteen months of full-time or equivalent part-time paid computer programming experience in one or more programming or data base languages.

Substitution:

Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid computer programming experience in one or more programming or data base languages may substitute for the required training.
