The Cass County Conservation District (CCCD) is looking for a full-time Program Support Technician to join their team. The Technician will support both the SESC program and the CCCD Administration which are vital to protecting water quality and natural resources in Cass County.

Position Description

Primary focus of the position will be in the SESC area. Program Support Technician will play a key role in evaluating and approving SESC permit applications, updating Survey 123 data, utilizing ESRI geographical mapping software, and communicating with landowners, contractors, and municipal officials regarding site work and erosion control. The CCCD Administration side of the role will be to manage existing and seek new grants that further achieve the District's mission. The Technician will assist with organization of outreach events, educational program and activities focusing on conservation related topics.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Assisting with SESC permit plan reviews and site plan approvals utilizing GIS maps and program software Identifying and securing long-term funding for program expansion Organizing and planning of educational workshops, fundraisers and events along with the other CCCD team members Supporting SESC field work by conducting investigations, inspections, and completing related logs and GIS updates

Qualifications

Completion of State of Michigan EGLE Construction Stormwater Certification and SESC Plan Review and Design Certification is required to be obtained within the first 90 days of hiring if not currently certified Experience with government administration, grant writing and reporting Strong commitment to environmental protection and ethical enforcement Positive attitude and teamwork skills Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and traverse uneven terrain

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
