Program Representative Materials Availability Team

Job Description

Overview:

This position supports Electric Boat's Materials Management activities associated with routing Vendor Information Requests (VIR), and Vendor Procedure Approval Requests (VPAR) within the Shipbuilding Partners and Suppliers (SPARS) system, In this role you will be required to manage the SPARS VIR/VPAR queue by expediting and prioritizing to improve the turnaround time of all VIRs/VPARs. Your responsibilities would encompass program management, data management, project reporting, expediting, and metric reporting.

Additionally, you would experience significant interaction with various customers which include Engineering, Purchasing, Program Office and various Quality Departments.

The responsibilities of this role may expand to other special projects as programs develop.

Candidates require daily use of various reports and computer driven systems.

This position is on site in our Groton, CT facility.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency 2+ Years Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management or project planning in a similar industry that encompasses material requirement identification, scheduling, and ordering activities. Familiarity in quality control or quality analyst functions Familiarity in supply chain management applications (MRPII/Oracle, SPARS) Demonstrated experience in using all Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros and graph/charts Ability to multi-task and work in a high pace environment

Preferred Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration 1 or more years related experience in planning, quality and supply chain management Military experience or Shipyard/Shipbuilding experience SPARS, MRPII, and ORACLE experience

Willingness to assist with issues using independent judgment, ingenuity, creativity and sound Decision-making Willingness to work overtime and weekends when it is required to support construction.
