Join a winning team! SAIC\xe2\x80\x99s National Security and Space (NSS) Sector is currently hiring for a customer within the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in Chantilly, VA. SAIC is seeking a Program Protection Officer to provide services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer for a complex space and ground efforts as part of an exciting and innovative set of programs. NOTE: Flexible work schedule options such as 9/80 or 8/80 may be available but dependent upon customer demands. The Program Protection Officer supports a System Program Office (SPO) in a technical capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of satellite system program protection methodologies that advance the National Reconnaissance Office\xe2\x80\x99s (NRO) space resiliency posture. The Program Protection Officer will join a team of on-site SETAs working on system protection planning with responsibilities that may include but not limited to the following:

  • Develop concepts of operations, processes and procedures for effective Program Protection solutions.
  • Collaborate with DOD/IC program leaders and government representatives to ensure Program Protection initiatives are effectively implemented.
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate potential risks associated with Program Protection in order to achieve technical and programmatic objectives.
  • Assess threats and vulnerabilities, and recommend counter measures/mitigations.
  • Coordinate across various team members (e.g., Program Managers, Customers, Engineers, Security, and Operators) to develop and refine Program Protection concepts, methodologies, and strategies.
  • Author, coordinate reviews and release written Program Protection Plans and other documentation (e.g., OPSEC and CONOPS plans).
  • Consult on Mission Protection Plans, coordinate with mission partners, technical experts, and operators to provide recommendations for protection through launch, on-orbit operations and end of life disposal.
Qualifications Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a Polygraph.
  • Experience as a Program Security Officer for traditional and/or non- traditional, national security, special programs\xe2\x80\x94in one or more of the following security disciplines: Program Protection, Operational Security (OPSEC), Communications Security (COMSEC), Information Systems Security (INFOSEC), physical/facility/technical security, personnel and industrial security.
  • Possess the ability to communicate, coordinate, and engage customer independently.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and small team environment.
  • Experience in an operations environment.
  • Ability to develop risk managed approaches to provide a framework for operational decision making in under evolving circumstances.
