Position Overview:

Virtuous Boss seeks compassionate, reliable, and culturally responsive Mentor to serve as "Trusted Adults" for youth participants in The Love Project (TLP), a trauma-informed, evidence-based relationship education and career readiness initiative. Marriage The Mentor will play a vital role in supporting high school youth ages 14-18 as they build healthy relationships, emotional resilience, and future planning skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Build a safe, consistent, and supportive relationship with assigned youth participants. Attend orientation and training in trauma-informed care, adolescent development, and curriculum content. Facilitate regular check-ins (individual or small group) to help youth reflect on workshop content and apply learning. Participate in campaign projects, showcases, or milestone celebrations to encourage engagement and achievement. Communicate with program staff to share observations, flag concerns, and support goal-setting for youth. Maintain appropriate boundaries and uphold all safety and confidentiality protocols.

Qualifications:

Experience working with youth in education, counseling, mentoring, coaching, or community engagement settings. Strong interpersonal communication, active listening, and empathy skills. Culturally aware and able to connect meaningfully with diverse youth populations. Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing consistent support throughout the 20-week program cycle. Background check required; prior trauma-informed training preferred but not required.

Commitment:

Attend training and orientation sessions. Meet with assigned mentees at least biweekly during the 20-week program. Participate in debrief and reflection sessions with program staff.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week
