Farm to School of Park County (FSPC) is looking for a dynamic individual with excellent interpersonal, communication and teaching skills to be a full-time Program Manager. This position works with the whole FSPC staff to deliver educational and community program activities. FSPC Program Managers are primarily responsible for planning and implementing classroom lessons, garden education, and cafeteria taste tests in K-12 settings and at the downtown Lincoln School Farm in Livingston. Other duties include curriculum development, assessments and school-community outreach and coordination. This is a full-time position that reports to the Executive Director, and works closely with other FSPC program managers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum & Education - 50%
Implement FSPC elementary lessons and curriculum in Livingston
Support F2S team with other curriculum and implementation at Park County schools
Participate in development and delivery of additional FSPC educational activities in Park County
Continually strive to improve the existing FSPC curriculum
Substitute for FSPC teaching team members as mutually agreed upon
Garden, Kitchen & Cafeteria - 25%
Lead maintenance and lesson implementation at one elementary school in Livingston
Assist with seasonal procurement and harvesting of other FSPC growing spaces
Assist with planning and implementation of monthly Harvest of the Month cafeteria taste tests and the promotion of Farm Fresh Meals Community Engagement, Partnership
Development, and Communications - 25%
Maintain positive relationships and regular communication with community partners
Assist with organizational development: including program messaging, special events and other duties as agreed upon
Engage in regular meetings and workgroups with FSPC staff to assist in achievement of organizational goals
Help maintain the FSPC strategic communications plan as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated, effective teaching skills
Experience working with rural communities
Strong people skills, including an ability to relate to diverse groups of individuals
Knowledge and experience with sustainable agriculture practices and farming
Knowledge of school food programs
Effective listening and strong verbal and written communication skills
Interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on team building, collaborative approaches, humor and fun!
Familiarity with Google workspace
Strong work ethic with demonstrated experience succeeding in a self-guided environment
Must have access to reliable transportation
Must be able to pass a criminal history background check
WORKING CONDITIONS
Program Management is primarily conducted in-person, though some responsibilities can be done remotely from home and requires regular access to the internet. Occasional work on weeknights and weekends may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work at a computer workstation for periods for 4 or more hours at a time
Ability to teach in the classroom, gardens and cafeterias for periods up to 6 hours at a time
Must have access to reliable transportation, ability to operate a personal vehicle for travel when needed and a willingness to drive to meetings
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and willing to work outdoors in all types of weather
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This is a full-time exempt position of 32+ hours/week. The base annual salary range is $47,000 - $55,000, commensurate on experience. This position includes eligibility for a competitive benefit package including medical, dental and vision health insurance, retirement, paid time off, and a cell phone stipend.
