As a Program Manager II in the Haul Production Planning Team at Amazon, you will drive strategic initiatives that transform how we optimize our transportation network and warehouse capacity. In this role, you will lead cross-functional efforts to enhance our logistics operations through data-driven decision making and innovative solutions. You will develop and implement comprehensive production planning processes that balance efficiency, cost, and service levels across our network.
You will manage relationships with 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) providers to ensure seamless integration with Amazon's operations while maintaining service excellence and cost effectiveness. A key aspect of your role will be building scalable tools and processes that enable the business to grow while improving operational metrics. You will leverage AI and machine learning technologies to drive productivity improvements and automate routine planning tasks, allowing the team to focus on strategic initiatives.
This role requires a combination of analytical thinking, program management expertise, and technical knowledge to successfully navigate complex logistics challenges. You will collaborate with business leaders, operations teams, technology partners, and external providers to deliver solutions that enhance the customer experience while optimizing Amazon's transportation and warehousing resources.
Key job responsibilities
Lead end-to-end program management for haul production planning initiatives, including scope definition, timeline development, and execution
Develop transportation capacity models to forecast network needs and optimize resource allocation
Design and implement warehouse capacity planning strategies to ensure sufficient space for inventory fluctuations
Manage relationships with 3PL providers to optimize external transportation and warehousing resources
Build and implement scalable tools and processes that enable business growth while maintaining operational excellence
Partner with business, operations, and technology teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
Analyze complex transportation and warehouse data to develop insights and recommendations that drive operational excellence
Create and maintain program documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and implementation plans
Manage stakeholder communications and provide regular updates on program status, risks, and mitigation strategies
Develop metrics and reporting mechanisms to track program performance and business impact
Facilitate cross-functional meetings to drive alignment and resolve blockers
Balance transportation and warehouse capacity needs during peak seasons and promotional events
A day in the life
Review transportation and warehouse capacity metrics to identify constraints
Lead stand-up meetings with planning teams to prioritize actions
Collaborate with 3PL partners on capacity adjustments and service issues
Work with technical teams on tool development and AI model refinement
Update dashboards providing network performance visibility
Coordinate with finance on transportation and warehouse spend tracking
Document process improvements and align execution plans with operations teams

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
------------------------
3+ years of program or project management experience
3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
3+ years of driving process improvements experience
Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
