Why does the job exist?



The Program Manager will:



Provide general subject matter expertise to assigned behavioral health programs;



Provide support and oversight to assigned programs which includes but is not limited to reviewing, processing and approving applications; writing and technical reports; providing technical assistance to providers; conducting site visits to evaluate program performance; ensuring implementation of program goals and outcomes; ensuring adherence to state and federal statues and guidelines; ensuring safety and service delivery; monitoring financial and budgetary needs, creating and developing scopes of work;



Support monthly/quarterly Learning Communities and/or other training;



Attend division wide meeting, team meetings, and Program Coordinator Meetings with BHSD finance staff. Collaborate with other departments, providers, and constituents as needed to support best practices.



How does it get done?



The Program Manager is responsible for:



Ensuring best practice concepts and the use of evidence-based practices in service delivery;



Evaluating provider and consumer needs regarding specialized behavioral health standards, quality improvement processes, and work force issues;



Providing ongoing support and technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders;



Utilizing work experience, professional knowledge and critical thinking skills in the coordination of existing behavioral health services and programs;



Working towards improving upon and developing services to address the needs of New Mexicans;



Supporting team efforts to prepare Requests for Applications (RFAs), and/or other funding requests or activities related to assigned program(s). Develop scopes of work for successful provider applicants to ensure deliverables are met according to RFA guidelines;



Monitoring program activities and correct deficiencies when applicable. Update operating manuals and policies as needed.

Minimum Qualification



Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional level experience with a tactical impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements



Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Working Conditions



Office setting, exposure to Visual Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Must be able to lift 25lbs. Some travel required.
