Job Scope:
Program Facilitators at The Foundation Academy LLC are responsible for leading, delivering program curriculum. These facilitators work directly with participants enrolled in the (youth, adults, or reentry) program to ensure the program's objectives are met while providing a positive and engaging learning experience. The role involves facilitating discussions, activities, workshops, and hands-on learning experiences, depending on the specific program's focus. Below is a detailed overview of the responsibilities, qualifications, and skills typically associated with the Program Facilitator role at The Foundation Academy LLC.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Delivery & Facilitation:
Lead and facilitate educational and enrichment programs designed to help participants build specific skills, knowledge, or competencies.
Deliver structured lessons, workshops, group discussions, and activities that are aligned with the standardized curriculum guide or program goals.
Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment where participants feel comfortable and motivated to learn.
2. Participant Engagement:
Foster a positive learning atmosphere by actively engaging participants, encouraging participation, and maintaining a high level of enthusiasm.
Tailor facilitation styles to meet the learning needs of diverse participants, adapting to different age groups, backgrounds, and learning preferences.
Provide support to participants, answering questions, offering clarification, and ensuring that everyone is supported in their learning journey.
3. Curriculum Support & Development:
Implement and adapt The Foundation Academy LLC's curriculum and other resources provided by the academy programs or training materials as needed, ensuring the content is relevant, accessible, and impactful.
Collaborate with program coordinators or CEO to identify program improvements and suggest new activities.
Ensure that the materials used in the program are up-to-date, well-organized, and conducive to learning.
4. Monitoring & Reporting:
Monitor participant progress, attendance, and engagement, and providing regular feedback as needed.
Maintain accurate records of participant participation, behavior, achievements, and any challenges they may face.
Provide periodic progress reports to program coordinators on the status of individual or group development, including assessments, successes, and areas for improvement and submit all required forms by the required timeframe.
5. Behavior Management:
Set and enforce clear behavioral expectations for participants, ensuring that all activities are conducted in a respectful and productive manner.
Manage group dynamics, addressing any conflicts, disruptions, or issues that arise and maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.
Encourage positive behavior and interactions among participants, promoting teamwork, respect, and collaboration.
6. Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate with other facilitators, program coordinators, or CEO to ensure program goals are being met and share best practices.
Communicate effectively with participants and program coordinators, on program progress, participant behavior, and upcoming activities.
Participate in team meetings or professional development sessions to enhance program delivery and stay informed about organizational goals or changes.
9. Safety & Compliance:
Ensure that all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with any relevant regulations or policies.
Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all participants during program activities.
Follow any necessary health and safety protocols, particularly in activities involving youth or vulnerable populations.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
1. Education & Experience:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred in education, human service or equivalent.
Three-Five years' experience working with youth, adult learners, or community members in a facilitation, teaching, or training, is required.
Background checks are required for Youth Programs. No violations are required.
2. Facilitation & Communication Skills:
Strong verbal communication skills to clearly explain concepts, lead discussions, and engage with participants of various ages and backgrounds.
Ability to facilitate group activities and discussions, keeping participants engaged and motivated.
Strong written communication skills for maintaining records, writing reports, and preparing any instructional materials, if necessary.
3. Interpersonal & Relationship-Building:
Ability to build rapport with participants, colleagues, and other stakeholders, fostering a positive, supportive learning environment.
Excellent listening skills to respond to participant needs and feedback.
Comfortable with working in a team environment and collaborating with other facilitators or program staff.
4. Organizational & Time Management:
Strong organizational skills to manage program schedules, materials, and participant records.
Ability to manage time effectively, ensuring that each session runs smoothly and that activities align with the overall program objectives.
Ability to juggle multiple tasks, responsibilities, and activities, maintaining a calm and focused approach under pressure.
5. Cultural Competency:
Understanding and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds, cultures, and needs of program participants.
Ability to adapt facilitation techniques to accommodate different learning styles, socioeconomic statuses, and cultural perspectives.
Commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful environment for all participants.
6. Problem-Solving & Conflict Resolution:
Ability to handle conflicts or behavioral issues that may arise, using effective conflict resolution techniques.
Proactive in identifying challenges within the program or with participants and finding creative solutions.
7. Adaptability & Flexibility:
Ability to adapt to changing program needs, schedules, or participant needs.
Willingness to take on different responsibilities or adjust to new roles within the program if necessary.
8. Tech Savvy:
Familiarity with basic software programs (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite) for record-keeping, scheduling, and communication.
Comfort with using online platforms or virtual tools, especially for electronic learning aids, and remote or hybrid learning environments.

The ideal Program Facilitator would be someone who is passionate about education, community engagement, and personal development. They should possess a genuine desire to help others succeed, particularly in challenging or underserved environments. The role requires flexibility, a strong work ethic, and the ability to inspire and motivate others to reach their potential. The candidate should also be able to work collaboratively with other facilitators and program coordinators to achieve program goals, while also being able to take initiative and work independently when necessary.
Work Environment:
This is a part-time position, Monday thru Friday at a designated location.
Virtual, evening or weekend may be needed to meet total program hours.
Compensation:
Fixed salary hourly rate.
