Breadwinners Academy is a creative youth centered organization that delivers financial literacy and entrepreneurship programs across schools and community sites. Our learning spaces are active, culturally relevant, and rooted in purpose. The Program Director serves as the lead instructor and program manager, ensuring that students receive an exceptional experience during school hours, after school programming, summer intensives, and occasional weekend events. This role reports directly to the Executive Director.
Primary Purpose of the Role
:
Program Director leads daily instruction, manages program operations, builds student relationships, and ensures that all learning experiences reflect the values and culture of Breadwinners Academy.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction and Classroom Experience
Deliver financial literacy and entrepreneurship lessons in a way that is interactive, intentional, and aligned with the Breadwinners' mindset
Facilitate student learning in high energy environments across in-school, after-school, and summer programs
Support students as they develop budgets, open bank and investment accounts, build financial plans, explore careers, and design business ideas
Maintain a positive and respectful classroom culture that encourages participation, confidence, and leadership
Program Management
Coordinate program schedules, classroom logistics, and communication with school and community partners
Prepare classroom materials and ensure all resources are organized and ready for use
Track attendance, monitor student progress, and support pre- and post assessments
Collect data needed for grants, reporting, and program evaluation
Student Relationships and Engagement
Build strong, authentic relationships with students that support their growth and development
Provide coaching and guidance connected to financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and college and career readiness
Create a safe and welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking risks
Team Collaboration and Leadership
Supervise summer interns and support their training through an assigned stipend program
Collaborate with the Executive Director and instructional team to refine curriculum and strengthen program delivery
Support guest speakers, field trip partners, and community events
Represent Breadwinners Academy with professionalism, creativity, and cultural awareness
Travel and Community Engagement
Travel to school partners, banks, field trip locations, and community events as neededParticipate in outreach opportunities that strengthen relationships with families and partners
Required Qualifications
Experience working with youth in school or community settings
Strong communication and classroom management skills
Ability to lead lessons with confidence and adapt to dynamic learning environments
Understanding of financial literacy or willingness to learn
Comfort using Google Classroom and digital tools
Must pass a BCI and FBI background check
Compensation
Hourly pay at $30.00
Additional per contract stipend for classroom based programming
Training stipend provided for supervising summer interns
