Job Summary
The Program Coordinator is a hands-on leadership role that blends teen mentorship with kitchen and program operations. This position supports teen girls through meaningful work and skill-building rooted in Try Pie's core values: Financial Stewardship, Job Skill Development, Faith Development, and Reconciling Community.
The Program Coordinator builds strong, professional relationships with students while supervising kitchen shifts, facilitating small-group programming, and supporting daily operations. This role requires an agile leader who can shift seamlessly between classroom facilitation, relationship building, and hands-on kitchen work and supervision to ensure delicious pies are made and students grow.
Qualifications

Experience working with teens or young adults; maintaining a professional supervisory role while building meaningful, positive connections with students.
Strong communication skills, conflict management among diverse perspectives
Comfortable receiving feedback and working on a small, close-knit team
Demonstrated ability to seek out diverse perspectives and actively contribute to inclusive practices that challenge systemic barriers.
Alignment with Try Pie's mission and values
High School Diploma or GED required
Basic food prep experience and familiarity with Google Workspace preferred
Ability to pass a background check and maintain reliable transportation
Ability to stand for 3-5 hour shifts and lift up to 50 lbs
Core Responsibilities
Responsibilities may shift seasonally based on student programming, production needs and organizational priorities. The ideal candidate enjoys variety, problem-solving, and contributing wherever needed to support students and the mission.
Lead a 10-week summer cohort focused on job readiness, goal setting, and financial literacy
Facilitate small-group programming for junior and senior students focused on college, career, and life and leadership skills
Supervise students during kitchen shifts offering real-time coaching to ensure learning and production goals are achieved
Actively participate in pie production outside of student shifts to meet goals and fulfill orders
Assist with basic administrative and nonprofit operations (inventory, customer service, reporting support)
Foster a reconciling community that welcomes students of all faith backgrounds and supports personal and spiritual growth
