The Department of Criminal Justice Training (DOCJT) located in Richmond, Kentucky is searching for a dynamic, customer-oriented individual to serve our staff in the Supply Section. The Program Coordinator position oversees the inventory management program for the agency and satellite offices across the state. This position maintains a warehouse of expendable supplies and is responsible for the accountability and inventory control of expendable supplies. A knowledge of forecasting methods and formulas is used to ensure product availability and to anticipate any disruptions to the supply chain process.



This position continually researches supply orders, inventory computer program issues and bar code scanner issues that affect inventory controls. This position works with instructors to determine course supply requirements and develops tools to aid them in requesting inventory items. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Manages and oversees the agency's Asset and Insurance Management Program. Monitors acquisition, usage, insurance coverage and claims and disposal of DOCJT, KLEC, and Office of the State School Security Marshal fixed assets located throughout the state. Recommends and implements the deployment of fixed assets. Communicates procedural changes to management and employees. Performs in-depth analysis of current fixed asset reports regarding usage and disposition. Edits and analyzes data producing reports for management. Monitors and maintains records in the agency's property control and inventory system. Analyzes insurance records and reports of fixed assets and real property for accuracy and compliance. Determines the warehousing of surplus property. Ensures all state laws, rules and regulations regarding fixed asset surplus are followed. Performs all surplus requirement with the Finance and Administration Cabinet. Responds to inquiries from local government agencies, non-profit agencies and the general public. Responsible for the accountability and accuracy of fixed assets for DOCJT, KLEC and Office of the State Security Marshal. Submits detailed reports for agency management, the Commission of Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and the Finance and Administration Cabinet. Recommends policy and procedural modifications. Interpret laws, regulations, policies and procedures to DOCJT, KLEC and Office of the State School Security Marshal employees. Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Expectations include but are not limited to the following:
Outstanding customer service skills. Inventory management experience. Organization and multi-tasking skills. Detail oriented. Microsoft software knowledge.

Additional / Supplemental Information:
Maintain a valid driver's license. Frequently communicate in person or by other means of technology. Spend a major portion of time using a computer. Travel required (state vehicle provided).

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION:

Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.



EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:

Three years of professional experience in management or administration.



Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:

A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.



Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:

Administrative or business experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
