Program Coordinator I / Outreach Coordinator

This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Central Office, 400 Otarre Parkway Cayce, SC 29033.



As the Program Coordinator I / Outreach Coordinator, you will serve as the ambassador to engage organizations, community members, and coalitions in implementing the Zero Suicide Community Framework, an innovative framework of best and evidence-based practices.



Responsibilities for the

Program Coordinator I / Outreach Coordinator

:

Provide project specific trainings, as well as other suicide prevention trainings, and resources across the state. Provide community outreach in assigned areas of coverage. Work closely with the mental health center in assigned area of coverage. Attend monthly and quarterly Office of Suicide Prevention meetings at SCOMH Central Office location. Track outcomes and submit reports of program activities, trainings, meetings and outreach efforts. Provide support to the Hope.ConnectsYou.Org Interactive Screener as suicide prevention/support in SC, as requested. Create social media posts for the Office of Suicide Prevention's Facebook page and other social media supports as needed.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and relevant program experience.


Preferred Qualifications


----------------------------


Knowledge in suicide prevention and experience with providing trainings, as well as public speaking, social media skills, and data collection. Trauma Informed Care training. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

The selected candidate must be flexible and able to work beyond required hours of job on a case-by-case basis. Some statewide travel with minimum overnight stay.
