FLSA Status: Non- exempt

Position Summary:

Loisann'sHope House provides a comprehensive set of services designed to address the root cause of homelessness within the Fredericksburg region

.

The Program and Children's Services Coordinator leads the program planning, implementation, and evaluation of all Children Services programs including adult education and children's programs for the families that reside and participate in the Loisann's Hope House Program. Such programs will include the following specialized and structured classes, seminars, and trainings:

Financial Management Legal Aide- Educational Groups Adopt a Family Holiday Program Holiday Activities Parenting Nutrition and Health Tutoring Summer Camp
The Program & Child Services Case Coordinator will also foster skill building that will lead to

self-sufficiency for both the adults and the children of Loisann's Hope House. This position will also serve as the case manager for all children participating in the Emergency Shelter and Rapid Rehousing Programs. All Loisann's Hope House employees are expected to demonstrate organizational skills and sensitivity to the diverse population served

Responsibilities and Duties:



Assist in the development and implementation of the Hope House programs as authorized by the ES & RRH Program Manager.

Manage a caseload of children including developing a Service Plan

Assist in the achievement of the mission of Loisann's Hope House.

Lead in carrying out the plans and policies authorized by the Administrative Staff and the Board of Directors.

Provide orientation to each child and adolescents living and participating in the programs.

Develop and implement children's programming. Conduct curriculum and programming research focused on children.

Maintains accurate records and prepares reports for each child as appropriate.

Maintains emergency contact list

Make referrals for services with community partners and provide collaborative services with clients

Participate in regular supervision with EM/RRH Manager by providing regular updates and preparing case presentations.

Outreach service providers and donors for new programming

Accompanies and leads residents on holiday events

Plans and Coordinates donation drives for Loisann's Hope House residents: Back to School backpacks, School supplies, Holiday Adopt a family, Summer Camp, recognition of a special event- graduations, etc.

Communcation

Keep the ES & RRH Program Manager fully informed on the progress of the various programs and all-important factors influencing them.

Collect, maintain, and report statistical data utilized for outcome measurement of programs to the administrative staff.

Keep the ES & RRH Program Manager fully informed on all client issues, and program schedules.

Establish sound working relationships with and cooperate with community groups and organizations.

Represent the programs and missions of Loisann's Hope House to agencies, organizations, and the public.

Interface with Head Start and school systems - advocates for children experiencing homelessness.

Working in partnership with the following:

o Housing Case Managers

o Operations Manager

o Any volunteers utilized for programming

o Parents/Guardians of children

o School Social Workers- McKinney Vento Liaisons

Other duties as assigned by the Chief Operations Officer & Emergency Shelter and Rapid Rehousing Program Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May supervisor interns or volunteers

Qualification Requirements:

Must have one of the following:

- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Human Services field from an accredited college or university with one (1) year of case management experience OR

- 3-5 years related experience or 2 years post- graduate work in a related

- Bilingual English and Spanish skills preferred.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Must demonstrate the following:

- Ability to respond to stressful situations in a professional manner

- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Work is primarily done in a shelter environment and in community locations, including client's homes. Agency offsite meetings and training are required.
