This position provides essential administrative support for academic programs, research projects, and department operations, helping ensure smooth day-to-day function and successful events.
The prepares students for impactful careers in healthcare and research through nationally recognized programs in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, public health, medical laboratory science, and respiratory care. With three academic departments and state-of-the-art facilities, the college combines teaching, research, and community service to improve health in South Dakota and beyond.

Job Responsibilities:
The main purpose of this job is to assist the faculty and department leadership in both the Pharmaceutical Sciences and Allied and Population Health Departments with administrative duties and tasks related to the delivery of undergraduate and graduate programs. More specific responsibilities include,

  • Provide administrative and office support for faculty, researchers, and department leadership, including calendar management and meeting coordination.
  • Assist with program materials, surveys, and student handbooks, as well as recruitment and admissions processes.
  • Plan and coordinate department and college events such as convocation, seminars, and student organization activities.
  • Maintain databases, student records, and curriculum tracking to ensure accuracy and compliance with university policies.
  • Assist program coordinators and directors with orientations, practicums, exams, and graduate student evaluations, and with other processes to meet the deadlines.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of:
  • Standard office and administrative knowledge
  • Database management, data analysis, and report development
  • Computer applications and systems, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access), document management tools (Ex. Adobe, Docusign), Survey tools (Ex. Qualtrics), and Scheduling and meeting tools (Ex. Calendars, Outlook, Teams, Zoom)
  • Event planning processes and logistics coordination
