Rigging Operations
Deliver, install, operate, and strike rigging equipment including truss, motors, chain hoists, and associated hardware.
Assist with reading and executing rigging plots and CAD diagrams.
Safely perform rigging work at height using lifts, fall protection, and industry-standard equipment.
Ensure all rigging operations meet OSHA, ANSI, and industry safety standards.
Equipment Management
Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot rigging gear to ensure proper operation and safety compliance.
Track, issue, and return rigging equipment to maintain department inventory.
Report and document equipment repairs or replacement needs.
Event Support
Assist clients, contractors, and in-house personnel in the safe integration of rigging systems with audio, video, and lighting equipment.
Provide technical support for live events, including problem solving during setup and operation.
Professionally interface with clients, vendors, and colleagues to ensure positive event outcomes.
Collaboration & Development
Work collaboratively with production staff across all disciplines, contributing as a general Production Technician when operational needs extend beyond rigging.
Assist in training and mentoring part-time staff and local crew in proper rigging techniques.
Stay current on rigging practices and participate in ongoing training opportunities.
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to apply OSHA, ANSI, and industry safety standards for rigging.
Demonstrates advanced rigging knowledge; interprets CAD diagrams and translates into safe installations.
Ability to troubleshoot rigging systems and perform routine inspections and maintenance.
Provides cross-discipline support when needed.
Independently prioritizes work, uses time efficiently, meets deadlines, and adapts in a fast-paced environment.

Experience
Requiredwillingness to obtain certification required.
Demonstrated experience with chain hoists, truss systems, rigging hardware, and hoist power distribution required.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical training in rigging or stage production preferred.; one to three years of professional rigging experience in a convention center, arena, theater, or live event environment required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PreferredFamiliarity with reading and executing CAD rigging plots required; ability to perform load calculations preferred. ETCP or equivalent rigging certification preferred;
