Job Summary




As a Production Technician you will assemble and test various elements of the Transponder Landing System. This includes completing mechanical assemblies involving both sub-system assembly work, and complete systems integration and will include testing of components, troubleshooting to the component level, component testing on the bench and in environmental chambers, and documenting the performance of the equipment under test. You will also interface with ANPC customers as a company representative during system installations at customer sites.



This is a full-time in-office position in Hood River, Oregon. Travel is involved.


Essential Job Functions



Perform mechanical assembly work using a variety of hand tools (wrenches, drivers, sockets, etc.)



Test electrical and mechanical assemblies using a variety of test equipment



Troubleshoot and repair digital and analog circuits, including hand soldering of parts



Write and edit test and assembly procedures



Conduct quality control inspections of incoming materials and assembled parts



Repair assembly errors noted by quality control personnel, or on parts returned from customers



Travel to customer sites for the installation / integration of TLS or TTLS systems



Perform full range of maintenance on company products, including on-site troubleshooting, installation, removal, retrofit, and/or preventive maintenance


Education and Work Experience Requirements




Associates degree in electronics or two years of college education in an engineering discipline, or equivalent military technical school or related field. Prior job experience may be substituted for education.



3+ years of manufacturing experience in aerospace industry


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics




Advanced knowledge of Microsoft software and familiarity with Sage MAS 100 business management software a plus.



Background in RF circuitry or fiber optics is a plus.



Knowledge of analog and digital circuitry.



Troubleshooting ability to the component level.



Experienced with PCBA soldering, including SMT.



Prior knowledge of or certification in IPC 610 and 620.



Proficient in the use basic test equipment and conducting quality inspections of mechanical assemblies.



Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.



Ability to read, write and interpret technical documents such as training manuals, corporate documents, work orders, assembly drawings/procedures and contracts.



Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with management, customers and employees in a positive manner.



Good hands-on assembly skills and attention to detail.



Must be highly organized, and able to efficiently manage multiple tasks.

Work environment




The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in an office and manufacturing environment. This position operates out of the Production area, production areas may experience moderate to high noise levels due to machinery, equipment, and packaging processes. Hearing protection may be required in designated areas. Temperature in the warehouse may vary with seasonal conditions and may not be climate-controlled. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, forklifts, carts, pallet jacks and other typical hazards of an industrial setting; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as required.
