The Production Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Facilities Operation Manager in providing direction to laundry production staff and consumers in necessary workflow assignments to ensure fulfillment of the organization's customer contracts. The Production Supervisor will oversee and ensure all aspects of production are achieved under the guidance, supervision, and direction of the Facilities Operations Manager.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Direct and provide guidance to production staff and trainers to ensure all production services are achieved in a timely manner according to established standards.
2. Provide direction, assistance, and guidance to all consumers in production and small group enclave related activities.
3. Provide direction, assistance, and guidance to Production staff to ensure production demands are achieved and job site supervision is accomplished.
4. Provide direction to ensure all small group enclaves are started on time as scheduled
5. Maintain and exhibit a professional image, work ethic, and attitude.
Duties of Position: Administration and Personnel
1. Provide assistance, guidance, and direction to training staff for production-related activities and actions.
2. Assist and provide recommendations to the Facilities Operations Manager for production staff scheduling needed to ensure adherence to contract processing schedules and production demands.
3. Ensure production and contract demands are achieved in a timely manner
4. Complete all required forms and documents in a timely fashion.
5. Coordinate and assist in contract scheduling changes as needed to ensure customer satisfaction with services.
6. Coordinate with trainers as necessary to accomplish production time studies and task analysis functions and others as requested by the Director of Employment Services.
7. Assist the Business Manager/CFO as requested in conducting and compiling machine and labor cost analysis information for in-house contracts and job sites.
8. Assist the Business Manager/CFO as requested with reviews and updates on floor mat contracts as per customer request or upon contract expiration.
9. Attend all training classes, seminars, or in-service training as required or requested.
Duties of Position: Production
1. Ensure timely and satisfactory completion of all production and contract functions.
2. Oversee, perform, and ensure Quality Control Standards are maintained and adhered to.
3. Provide direction, assistance, and perform all functions of production.
4. Oversee, train, and provide guidance to staff in all areas of laundry production.
5. Develop and maintain current written materials and visual aids to ensure all laundry products are properly marked/tagged and remain readily identifiable during the laundering process and meet customer requirements and specifications.
6. Monitor and direct daily laundry production activities.
7. Ensure compliance with Life Skills Training Center's safety policies.
8. Ensure overall cleanliness of the washer/sorting room and all production areas.
9. In conjunction with the Facilities Operations Manager and Director of Client Services, adjust workflow methods and staff/consumer task assignments as needed to ensure customer requirements are achieved.
10. Respond promptly to production concerns or complaints raised by staff, consumers, and customers and report them to the Facilities Operations Manager in a timely manner.
Duties of Position: Training
1. Teach, train, and provide guidance to trainers for consumer enclaves in correct in house production processing.
2. Serve as a role model in proper work ethic, skills, habits, and attitudes.
3. Provide recommendations to the Facilities Operations Manager related to production department activities and to the Director of Client Services for consumer- related issues or concerns.
Duties of Position: General
1. Attend in-services, workshops, and training seminars for professional development.
2. Report all incidents/accidents involving consumers, staff, or other personnel within one day to the Facilities Operations Manager and the Director of Client Services and document within 24 hours.
3. Provide recommendations to the Director of Client Services for accommodations or assistance needed to improve the consumer training environment.
4. Maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid.
5. Participate as requested in Safety Committee and other committees as directed.
6. Attend all scheduled meetings and training classes as requested or directed.
7. Ensure appropriate opening, closing, and security of the facility.
8. Comply with all organizational safety and health policies and procedures.
Employment Requirements:
A. Education: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
B. Specialized Experience: One year of verifiable experience in a related field or 1 year previous work history in the human service field.

C. Other certifications, licenses, or skills: Ability to read, write and understand English language sufficient to communicate with clients, staff, and public. Ability to compare, compile, analyze, coordinate, and synthesize data and information. Must be certified in CPR and First Aid or be willing to obtain certification as requested. Must possess Iowa Limited Chauffeurs license or obtain within 60 days of hire and meet insurance company standards of insurability.
D. Relations to others: Ability to supervise, negotiate, communicate, and instruct subordinates. Must possess strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to act independently and determine methods of operation to maintain production schedules.
E. Physical Demands (Strength): Very Heavy - exert in excess of 100 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 40 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
F. Physical Demands (Movement): Standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, fingering and handling, or with accommodations

H. Environmental Conditions: Ability to tolerate seasonal weather changes. Must be able to work in a hot and humid or cold and dry environment. Ability to work in a restrictive training environment.
I. Equipment Used: Office equipment to include computers, laptops, notebooks, and telephones.
Machinery and equipment used in the production of laundry to include commercial washer/extractors and dryers. Operate vehicles that include cars, vans, and pick-up trucks.
