Production Supervisor


Location: Double D Group Greenville, KY


FLSA: Non-Exempt


Reports to: General Manager

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising the production team members while promoting total safety and lending support to the achievement of the sites business goals and objectives.

Essential Functions

Efficiently assign team members, materials, and equipment to meet production goals. Promote a positive culture of Safety/Health standards. Makes necessary schedule adjustments, reviews requests for time off, and approval of electronic timecards for each production team member. Consistent application of company policies and procedures. Responsible for safe operation of all equipment, including total compliance with machine guarding. Generate work requests to Maintenance Manager regarding any maintenance need in the production areas. Work closely with the plant HR/Safety Manager to resolve any Human Resources or Safety related issues in a timely manner. Follow all food safety/quality guidelines to produce the highest quality product. Comply with OSHA, NFPA, USDA, City and County Utilities, and other regulatory agency standards. Maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Competencies

Experience in food manufacturing, preferably ready to eat proteins, Associates Degree or higher preferred, Good computer skills, Ethical Conduct, Communication Proficiency, Initiative.

Supervisory Responsibility

The Production Supervisor could initially be responsible for approximately 21 team members.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to a noisy work area, moving mechanical parts and conveyors. Many locations in the plant have a room temperature at or below 45 degrees and some areas are below 32 degrees. Other areas can be just the opposite, so temperature extremes are not uncommon.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the Production Supervisor is regularly required to talk and hear in a loud environment. This position is very active and requires a lot of standing, climbing stairs and walking all day. The employee can expect to periodically lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position and hours may vary based on the assigned shift and the needs of the company.

Travel

Very minimal travel is expected for this position.
