We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our hard working and fast-paced team in Anchorage, AK. The Production Supervisor will play an integral role in driving overall collaboration with our Site Leadership team. They will also interact indirectly with the corporate teams. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of production to ensure that products are produced in line with safety, quality and consumer requirements for the Springfield bakery. As a member of the Department Leadership Team (DLT) this position is expected to help set tactical as well as strategic direction for the department. This position reports to and supports the Production Manager. This role will have line forepersons directly reporting to them with a crew size of 12-15 employees per line.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs all activities within assigned area to operating standards within approved staffing limits.
Solve technical problems which may affect quality or the continuity of the operation.
Communicates, trains, and motivates employees to create a common goal and attitude that will achieve operating objectives with a team concept.
Models appropriate leadership behaviors & communication with all personnel at all times.
Day to day employee management of production employees by being actively present on the floor, preparing and updating employee schedules, accurate maintenance of employee files with HRIS system.
Initial point of contact for production employee employment actions, performance management, discipline, safety, and effective resolution of employee relation issues.
Works with the leads and management team to develop and track against daily production plans and goals.
Support and maintain a safe work environment by stressing the importance of safe work practices, promoting accident prevention, and resolving potential hazards in a timely manner.
Reports to Production Manager any stoppage, inconsistency of dough, and equipment problems that may occur.
Enforces GMPs and Company policies
Works as a partner effectively with management team for common bakery goals.
Assures compliance with government regulations
Preparation for and participation in outside agency and/or customer audits
Actively seeking ways to improve processes and efficiencies

Minimum Education/Experience
Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible production supervision experience.
Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field equivalent to a 4 year college degree.
Critical Skills and Expertise:
Ability to perform tasks requiring independent knowledge of the baking process in addition to procedures or instructions provided.
A high level of analytical ability is required.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Good computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office Suite products and internal programs.
Excellent organizational skills and flexibility to work in a fast-paced work environment.
