Position Summary:

The

Production Sanitation Technician

is a hybrid role supporting both sanitation and production operations. This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all production lines, equipment, and surrounding areas to meet food safety and quality standards, while also assisting with production setup and line start-up to ensure a smooth transition into operational readiness. The role typically includes approximately

6.5 hours

of sanitation activities and

1.5 hours

of production support each shift.

Key Responsibilities:

Sanitation:

Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble production line equipment -- including extruders, seasoning systems, conveyors, hoppers, kettles, and packaging machinery -- in accordance with established cleaning procedures and schedules. Maintain a clean and organized production environment by cleaning floors, drains, walls, and surrounding areas. Safely handle and apply approved cleaning chemicals and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) per sanitation and safety standards. Perform pre-operation inspections to verify cleanliness and readiness prior to production start-up. Accurately complete sanitation logs, verification checklists, and chemical usage records. Communicate any maintenance or repair needs identified during cleaning to the Maintenance or Production teams.

Production:

Assist with production line setup, equipment assembly, and preparation for start-up following sanitation activities. Support operators in ensuring equipment and tools are properly reassembled and ready for production. Verify that all sanitation and safety requirements are met before beginning production. Collaborate with Production and Maintenance teams to ensure a smooth transition from cleaning to operational readiness.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. 1+ year of experience in food manufacturing sanitation or production preferred. Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety. Comfortable working around chemicals, water, and machinery. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks.
*May involve weekend, or rotating shifts based on production schedule.
