This position is onsite Monday - Friday, 3pm-11pm.




General Duties:

+ Perform required operations to set up, adjust, and operate all operational equipment to produce specified molding compounds and any other related materials. Work with decimal tolerances when setting roll clearances. + Perform operations to select, weigh, stage and mix various materials to prepare specified mixes for milling operation. Operates resin grinding station as needed to grind/screen raw materials or compound.
+ Control flow of premix to mill and compound material to prescribed specifications. Collect uncompounded premix and shovel back onto mill. Operate grinding/screening equipment to prepare raw material or compound to specifications.
+ Perform all operations to select, weigh and mix various materials to produce long glass molding compounds, and other intermediate raw materials for use in other areas of the facility.
+ Perform all operations needed to manufacture extruded products through out the extrusion department, exclusive of the Twin Screw Department. This Includes raw material staging and mixing, extruder compounding, grinding, screening, drying, blending, and packaging of all products as required.
+ Operate Recycle Process line and associated equipment. Process Internal and customer returned scrap for reuse on compounding lines.
+ Performs operator in-process testing and control as it applies to the process and product to meet specifications. Operates blending equipment to meet final product specifications.
+ Make, record, log, and chart appropriate product and process control records.
+ Maintain equipment with available tools to ensure standard operation, such as changing dull knives, chipping mill rolls, changing dicer knives, mixer cleaning, etc.
+ Disassemble and clean all elements of process equipment as required or on changeover of material, for any and/or all parts of operational equipment.
+ Detect unusual conditions, defective materials, operating difficulties, or process upsets, and report to supervisor.
+ Requires the use of forklift trucks and other material handling equipment.
+ Observe prescribed or necessary safety precautions and work according to good manufacturing and housekeeping practices.
+ Train other operators as assigned.
+ Implement and maintain the 5S systems in the Plant. This includes sorting, straightening, and cleaning activities including but not limited to vacuuming, equipment cleaning and inspection and painting.
+ Insures proper operating through inventory communication with the warehouse
+ Perform other related job duties as required or necessary.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Requires the use of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division including decimals and fractions; simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specification and schedules, requiring some interpretation. Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes within the limits of recognized or standard methods and procedures. Ability to read, write and communicate in English

Experience/Education:

High School Education or Equivalent required. 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
