Trim, flare, test, inspect, attach I.D., and cover tees, crosses, laterals, instrument "T's", concentric reducers, eccentric reducers, 6" and 8" valves and 1" 45 degree elbows.
Principle Duties (includes, but may not be limited to):
The flating machine is set-up to comply with the work order requirements with the correct hot heads, cold heads, pressure setting and time control setting in accordance with the manufacturing procedures.
When required liner is inserted into the housing, liner is pencil sharpened, trimmed to length, expander is installed, lube and washer installed as noted in the manufacturing procedures.
Place part in flaring fixture and move it into the flaring machine and flare the liner in accordance with the manufacturing procedures.
Remove the flared part from the flaring fixture and visually inspect the flare for defects.
When required, cookie cut the flare(s) in accordance with the manufacturing procedures.
Electrostatic (spark) test each flared end per the manufacturing procedures with test mark being applied after all ends are flated and tested.
Record the flare(s) dimension(s) onto the inspection sheet in accordance with the manufacturing procedures.
Date stamp the part using an alphabetical month code and numerical year code in accordance with the manufacturing procedures.
Install a protective cover over flared end. When required, place the appropriate I.D. band around the O.D. of the part and identify each part with the employee number in accordance with the manufacturing procedures.
Periodically check the hydraulic reservoir fluid level and add more fluid when needed.
Use blueprint reading skills to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Perform material handling functions using hand trucks and carts.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance, any parts weighing over 50lbs requires a team lift.
Operator must have basic blueprint reading skills to interpret engineering drawings and specifications necessary to perform job
Operator must have basic math skills including addition / subtraction of fractions and decimal values for determining material, manufacturing and inspection requirements
Operator must have ability to read measuring instruments not limited to but including: tape measure, thickness gage, micrometers and calipers.
Operator must have good hand-eye coordination, grip strength and dexterity to assemble products using hand and machine tools at established production standards.
