Job Description

American Construction Metals (ACM), a strategic business unit of ABC Supply, produces a wide array of metal building materials including trim coil, edge metal, gutter systems, and a variety of other metal accessories. This position is responsible for handling all raw and finished goods materials in the production departments of the ACM plant. Responsibilities include the staging of material and supplies for all work orders and work centers, and the movement of finished products away from the work center in a manner that maximizes the work center productivity.
Specific duties may include:Staging raw material at each workstation. Ensure that supplies are delivered to each work center where it does not slow down production in any way. Coordinate the movement of finished products into the warehouse with a one-touch process, minimizing handling and delays. Guarantee timely delivery of products to designated warehouse locations that enable efficient one-touch pick-up and put-away by warehouse associates. Discard old skids, cardboard and all other materials such that the raw material area of each workstation is clean and organized. Deliver cardboard, tape, strapping, and all other needed supplies to all workstations as needed to support production. Weigh & put away coils after work orders are complete. Do all other work as assigned by Team Lead or management.

Qualifications include:Prior forklift operation experience. High school education or GDE equivalent. Experienced reading and interpreting manufacturing work orders. Experience working in a team oriented manufacturing environment. Ability to be cross-trained on multiple equipment. Organizational skills

Work Environment:Work Hours: Full time - 1st Shift Noise is common in the manufacturing environment; ear protection should be worn 100% of the time when in the manufacturing areas. Safety glasses are worn 100% of the time when in the manufacturing areas. Machines have pinch points, fast moving parts and protruding parts, which present themselves as a potential injury. All ACM associates must be aware of these dangers.
