This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.


Your Responsibilities



As a Product Planner, Tillage for John Deere Tillage located in Ankeny, IA you will bring deep knowledge of the customer, market, business, industry and gather insights from Production Systems Teams and Product Managers to collaborate and lead the global Tillage vision and strategy. In addition, you will:

  • Collaborate with Production System Teams on market scans and translation into business/product longer-range vision globally
  • Partner with the autonomy working team to prioritize expansion plans and projects.
  • Partner with TDP (Technology Development Process)/Architecture to establish the 5-10 year product vision globally
  • Ensure product plans and roadmaps unlock economic headroom and create maximum customer/business value
  • Lead portfolio rationalization efforts and partners with TDP/Architecture to drive R&D (research & development) efficiency
  • Partner with TDP/Architecture to ensure the retrofit ability of future solutions
  • Partner with Production and Precision Ag Portfolio team to prioritize and allocate capital for the business unit

What Skills You Need



  • 1 or more years of customer-facing needs gathering experience
  • Experience working with Precision Ag in crop production system environments
  • Knowledge of global agriculture applications and technology and its potential to enhance lives of farmers.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to take initiative to build strong and productive relationships
  • Experience working with agricultural customers and engineers with proven ability to rally a team to build great products
  • 1 or more years of experience in gathering input from multiple stakeholders and set priorities for the team
  • 1 or more years of experience in business cases financial analysis development
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally


What Makes You Stand Out



  • Experience working directly with tillage used for production agriculture
  • Experience operating precision ag equipment and managing crop production systems such as tillage, planting, seeding, application, and harvest.
  • Experience with software product development processes
  • Knowledge of global agricultural practices
  • Product Planning experience
  • Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution Strong business and customer knowledge (Production Systems and Tillage Jobs)
  • Strong product knowledge (Tillage and Technology)
  • Effective writing skills, including grammatical usage, persuasive copy, and style


Education



Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Technology, Agricultural Sciences, Agronomy, Marketing, or equivalent discipline
