Job Description

Super Bright LEDs is seeking a Product Category Manager to lead the strategy, development, and performance of our LED lighting product categories on our e-commerce platform. This role focuses on retail category management and requires a strong understanding of e-commerce merchandising, product lifecycle planning, and market-driven decision-making within the LED lighting sector.

The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in product and market analysis, pricing strategy, and supplier management to build and maintain a compelling, customer-focused product assortment. This position plays a key role in optimizing category performance, enhancing online customer experience, and driving profitable growth through effective merchandising and strategic product planning.

Note:

This is an in-office role based in Earth City, Missouri. Flexible weekly scheduling options are available, including varied start times, lunch options, and the potential for an extended weekend.

Key Responsibilities



Market Competition & Strategy



Conduct competitive analysis across e-commerce and retail channels to monitor market trends, benchmark product offerings, and identify opportunities for category expansion and differentiation Recommend new products, merchandising strategies, and promotional approaches that align with customer demand and support profitable category growth Develop and implement competitive pricing strategies that drive online conversion and maintain healthy margins while minimizing category cannibalization Use insights from sales data, customer behavior, and competitor activity to continuously refine category strategy and positioning

Supplier & Product Development



Collaborate with sourcing and procurement teams to identify and evaluate new suppliers and product opportunities Ensure supplier capabilities meet quality, compliance, and fulfillment standards that support online retail operations Negotiate product costs, MOQs, and lead times to maximize margin performance and inventory efficiency Define initial stocking strategies and order quantities using sales performance insights, customer demand trends, and category benchmarks

E-Commerce Merchandising



Develop detailed product briefs and collaborate with Web Content and Creative teams to create accurate, engaging, and conversion-focused product listings Ensure product titles, specifications, images, videos, filters, and cross-sell opportunities are optimized for discoverability and customer decision-making Partner with Marketing to align product positioning, promotions, and seasonal campaigns with category goals Review on-site merchandising performance to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure consistent execution of category strategy

Category Performance & Lifecycle Management



Own end-to-end category performance by monitoring sales, margins, conversion rates, and inventory turnover Identify growth drivers--including pricing strategies, product attributes, and customer engagement--to optimize category profitability Evaluate new product launches using early sales and site insights; recommend adjustments to content, pricing, or assortment Manage the full product lifecycle by reviewing underperforming SKUs, customer feedback, and returns to determine repositioning or discontinuation needs

Relationships & Collaboration



Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support competitive pricing, reliable inventory, and the introduction of innovative products Collaborate cross-functionally with sourcing, marketing, operations, and web content teams to ensure cohesive execution of category strategies Serve as the key category owner, ensuring alignment across departments to drive sales, enhance customer experience, and support business goals

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field 2-3 years of experience in retail category or buyer management, and/or e-commerce category management and merchandising Experience in the LED lighting industry or in managing technical product categories is required Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies Proven project management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment Experience with web platforms or tools (e.g., content management systems, e-commerce platforms); familiarity with NetSuite or web design concepts is a plus

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
