The Opportunity

This position is a an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. Consistent and accurate glucose monitoring is the foundation of any diabetes management plan, so we\xe2\x80\x99re committed to continuous improvement in the way patients and professionals measure, track and analyze glucose levels.

As a Procurement Specialist, you will apply experience and procurement knowledge to execute procurement best practices for indirect purchases. Work with customers, internal and external, on daily tasks and strategic projects. This includes but is not limited to, detailed review and management of Purchase Requisitions to Purchase Orders, preparation and negotiation of contracts, invoice resolution, and vendor management. This role will work with multiple functions. This is an onsite role in Alameda, CA

What You\'ll Do

• SAP Ariba Super User responsible for end-to-end support in the indirect purchasing function
• Responsible for supporting the day-to-day Indirect Procurement for assigned categories.
• Detailed review and negotiations of MSA\xe2\x80\x99s and SOWs
• Detailed review, correction, and approval of PRs to assure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with procurement policy, contract terms, & payment schedules.
• Assign POs and perform PO updates in line with contract amendments or other needed revisions.
• Prepare PR\xe2\x80\x99s on behalf of business partners, as needed.
• Provide a high level of customer service using to guide business partners through the procurement process.
• Utilize SAP Ariba Suppler Lifecycle Performance (SLP) system to on-board new vendors and maintain existing vendor master data.
• Support PO lifecycle management to make or review any necessary PO changes and final closures.
• Keep invoice discrepancies at a minimum and partner with the business, vendors & Accounts Payable to quickly resolve any that occur.
• Obtain quotes and negotiate one-off purchases or volume buys.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable on PTP (Procure-to-pay) projects to improve efficiency of both groups.
• Assists in the documentation and management of departmental work instructions
• Performs general and ad hoc project support as required.

Experience You\'ll Bring

Required

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Business, Finance, or related. Other degrees acceptable with procurement or purchasing experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications.
• SAP experience.
• Strong people skills, strong problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).

Preferred

• Provides exceptional customer service and knowledge to efficiently assist internal customers and meet corporate objectives.
• Working knowledge of procurement categories and their associated G/L accounts to ensure proper coding of PRs/POs.
• Exhibits high attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy.
• Thrives to achieve goals as part of a team, but also works independently on assigned task or projects.
• Must possess a high degree of integrity and the ability to accept responsibility for work activities and projects and see them through to completion
• Applies acquired job skills and company policies/procedures to complete tasks
• Possesses excellent communications skills, both written and oral. Conducts themselves in a professional manner when dealing with team members, our internal customers, and external parties.
