Why does the job exist?



This position is responsible for ensuring that CYFD purchase requests for tangible personal property and services adhere to New Mexico State Procurement Code, Procurement Rules and Regulations, Model for Accounting Practices, and all other state or federal laws, rules or regulations including applicable federal grant awards.

How does it get done?



Audit purchase requisitions submitted by CYFD division personnel for adequate descriptions, attachments, procurement methods, accounting codes and approvals, ensuring purchases are procured properly according to state statutes and internal policies



Convert approved purchase requisitions into purchase orders and submit for approval;



Provide guidance to agency personnel in the field who may have questions regarding protocol via telephone calls, email correspondence, or in person;



Prioritize purchase requests according to urgency and process within one business day of being assigned;



Assist with various functions of the Agency's P-Card Program as needed;



Track monthly purchase orders and communicate concerns with Purchasing Team and division personnel;



Close purchase orders monthly as needed.

Minimum Qualification



Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting and Finance and one (1) year of experience in accounting, finance, purchasing, procurement, and/or warehouse clerking. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements



Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions



Work is performed in an office setting, with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive computer and telephone usage. Some sitting, standing, walking, bending and reaching may be required. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
