Job Description


The Packaging Manager preferably has prior CPG experience and is responsible for managing the packaging department which would oversee the packaging process for plant material and infused products. In this role, maintaining accuracy in weighing product, fulfilling product, labelling, and inventory is paramount. The Packaging Manager is also responsible for managaing a perpetually clean workspace to provide a sterile environment for production of medical products. The manager will also have some responsibility for overseeing tracking products electronically on the company\'s software system to ensure compliance with state laws and program regulations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the packaging process of infused and plant material into proper containers with proper labeling to ensure compliance with state regulations
  • Managing all production staff within packaging department
  • Managing and participating in set-up, sanitation, operation, and routine maintenance of production lines and supporting equipment/systems
  • Acting as a leader who communicates with line staff and operators regarding issues such as scheduling, daily performance, production and personnel problems, overtime, and quality issues.
  • Training, developing, motivating, rewarding, and disciplining assigned staff; ensuring staff follow safety guidelines and procedures. Cross training employees as necessary so that there is coverage for positions during vacations and/or sicknesses
  • Responsible for employee reviews, acknowledgment, and disciplinary actions with support of Director of Operations.
  • Conducting on-going assessment of quality control and operational procedures making recommendations for improvements.
  • Exhibiting competency in medium to advanced organizational skills, communication skills and windows based operating software
  • Managing time efficiently in order to meet goals set while consistently producing quality product
  • Assisting with the production line
  • Loading and unloading items from machines, carts, and dollies
  • Filling and packaging products for delivery
  • Recording data
Salary $22 - $27 USD per hour

Required Skills
  • Must be able to adapt quickly to changes in policy, procedure and technique
  • Employee must exhibit personal hygiene and follow the health guidelines set forth by the company and the state while processing patient medicine
  • Ability to perform a monotonous task with great efficiency over 8-hour work periods without losing quality
  • Must work well in a group and independently; demonstrate self-motivation and initiative
  • Must pass any and all required pre-employment screenings
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Must possess valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license or state ID card
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
  • High School Education or GED required
Desired Skills
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding KPIs in a CPG environment
  • 3+ years working in production environment required
  • Experience processing medical cannabis or other botanicals highly desirable
  • A solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.
