Summary
The primary purpose of a Processing Lab Technician is to assist in the clinical processing laboratory during clinical trials. They will be responsible for processing biological samples according to Standard Operating Procedures, training, and study protocol requirements. As well as completing documenting in accordance with Good Documentation Practices.
Essential Functions
Accurately process subject samples.
Document information as it relates to samples processing and storage.
Communicate with other staff regarding progress and issues.
Identify the presence and/or quantity of drugs and toxic substances in the sample by operating instrumentation and performing automated or manual screens.
Follow established protocols to prepare samples for analysis.
Adhere to all State and Federal guidelines and regulations including compliance with CLIA and CAP regulations.
Enter and match computer orders with specimen labels, sort and log specimens, arrange reports for delivery and track samples as needed.
Monitor and maintain quality control measures and protocols by running standards/calibrators and controls, verify equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and advanced trouble shooting, and calibrating equipment using approved testing procedures.
Store and/or dispose of samples and reagents appropriately.
Ensure laboratory area is cleaned, organized, and sufficiently stocked with reagents and consumables.
Prioritize work to maintain turn-around-time.
Execute other duties as assigned.
