POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Process Manager, the Process Supervisor - Heap Leach oversees directs, trains, and evaluates heap leach operators and assigns both daily and long-term duties to them. Maintains a safe working environment in processing areas, observes and corrects deficiencies and documents employee performance. Ensures the condition of and activities in all processing areas comply with state and federal health and safety regulations and all company policies and procedures. They will assign priority and schedule personnel to multiple tasks occurring simultaneously. Record keeping will be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide day-to-day direction to the heap leach operations group.
Coach and mentor and develop heap leach operators.
Clear communication between rotating crew, peers, and management.
Perform pre-shift inspections of process areas/equipment and their components; recognize and eliminate situations or conditions that could be hazardous to employees, the environment, or to mine equipment or other property.
Liaise with Site Maintenance group to ensure process equipment is maintained and meets availability targets.
Liaise with the Mine Operations group to ensure leach areas are stacked and prepared in a Safe, timely and efficient manner.
Monitor the daily progress of tasks within the process operations group often during the shift to ensure work is completed Safely and as planned.
Regularly implement continuous improvement ideas and programs.
Operates the heap leach pad and associated processing areas within compliance of environmental permits.
Develop, exemplify, and maintain positive and effective leadership and skills within the process department, at all levels.
Develop and maintain positive and effective professional working relationships with vendors and co-workers.
Lead heap leach operations members in daily operations by providing administrative and technical direction to achieve safe, efficient, and effective results.
Occasional standing and walking on uneven and wet ground.
Occasionally required to stop or lift light material or equipment.
Occasional exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, noise, mining chemicals and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
