Description:

The Senior Process Engineer will evaluate a process\' efficiency, effectiveness, quality, and safety. They then identify any areas that need to be improved or changed, with the ultimate goal being to make a process efficient and less costly.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Evaluates, plans and optimizes manufacturing processes applying knowledge of fabrication, automation, work-holding, tooling, assembly, and materials with input from team members and vendors.
  • Provide technical expertise to modify existing assembly processes and/or add new fabrication processes that will improve quality and increase profitability.
  • Evaluate and solve production safety, efficiency and quality problems.
  • Assures processes achieve product quality, yield and cycle time objectives.
  • Utilize lean theories to devise new solutions to existing manufacturing, assembly, and fabrication problems.
  • Use manufacturing engineering best practices to document routings and manufacturing instructions.
  • Complete cost optimization projects that provide significant savings through sourcing substitution, reduced variability, improved quality, and higher operating efficiencies.
  • Design and procure tools and equipment.
  • Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of work force and equipment.
  • Implements methods of improvement based on leading edge technologies and lean engineering principles to improve operating performance and reduce waste, delays and costs.
  • Analyze, recommend, and implement enhancements to existing work methods, flows, and processes to improve current capabilities.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for methods and processes.
  • Work with the operations team to monitor inventory, manufacturing schedules and address material issues.
  • Design and build in-house proprietary manufacturing equipment from concept to full solution.
  • Ensure capital project and turnarounds have an effective integration reliability strategy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Your Experience & Education
  • Bachelor\'s in mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years\' experience improving processes and developing/procuring equipment in a lean manufacturing/fabrication environment.
  • Six sigma green or black belt preferred.
  • Certificate or highly proven proficiency in design tools such as 3D CAD, Math Lab or Solid Works.
  • Certificate or proven proficiency in Project Management is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to design and evaluate equipment and processes.
