will provide technical and operational expertise to develop and optimize manufacturing processes that effectively transform raw materials into high-quality products. This role will support plant operations by driving process improvements, ensuring safe and efficient performance, and minimizing operational risks within a chemical manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions:
Provide direct technical support to plant operations, ensuring both short-term and long-term performance objectives are achieved.
Lead process optimization initiatives, troubleshoot complex operational challenges, and develop solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
Collaborate with operations leadership and cross-functional teams to implement innovative, safe, and cost-effective process improvements.
Interpret and apply industry standards and internal guidelines to practical applications in daily operations.
Design and modify process flow diagrams (PFDs) and process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
Perform process modeling, simulations, and hydraulic calculations to support design and operational decisions.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including equipment data sheets and process specifications.
Participate in hazard and operability (HAZOP) reviews and other risk assessment processes; lead cross-functional efforts to identify and mitigate process risks.
Identify and implement process improvements that increase production capacity, enhance product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, and optimize resource use.
Support turnaround planning, commissioning, and other major maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations, including Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience providing process engineering support in a continuous manufacturing environment within the chemical, petrochemical, or related industry (polymer experience preferred).
Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex technical issues.

Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools
Solid understanding of equipment, systems, and components used in continuous chemical or petrochemical manufacturing environments.
Ability to adapt to new information, changing conditions, and evolving priorities.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to maintain productive relationships with contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
Ability to make independent, sound decisions using professional judgment.
Experience working independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment to meet goals and deadlines.
Working knowledge of distributed control systems (DCS); experience with Honeywell systems preferred.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and safety documentation.
Thorough understanding of equipment properties, process behaviors, and associated hazards.
