The Process Design Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:

  • Design and develop chemical process systems for new and existing production lines.
  • Perform process simulations, material and energy balances, and equipment sizing.
  • Prepare detailed process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement process safety measures (HAZOP, LOPA).
  • Support commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting of process systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

The ideal Process Design Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in process design within chemical or related manufacturing industries.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of chemical process equipment and design standards.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with scale-up from lab to production.
  • Knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and reaction engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward certification.
