Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose


Coordinate with the healthcare team to deliver yoga services individualized for each child's medical condition to ensure that yoga plays a complementary role in the overall treatment plan reducing stress and aiding with pain management and relaxation.

Responsibilities

Coordination with the child life and healthcare team for patient referrals and information and prioritization Coordination of yoga sessions with patients and family members individualized to meet medical and treatment needs. Data collection and documentation Assessment of patient abilities and goals including if the patient presents as stressed or anxious, has any special considerations for fall precautions, any pain, nausea, sleep issues, or digestive issues, dysregulated, and/or uncoordinated and adjusts the yoga session/patient's breathing to help relieve/treat the symptoms and/or prevent injury. A certification in yoga is needed to assess these needs and provide interventions to alleviate symptoms, provide relaxation, teach coping strategies, provide distraction and improve mental/physical/emotional well-being Monitoring use of child life resources including ordering supplies and handouts, maintaining inventory and ordering new supplies. Maintains all infection control protocols to keep resources/props clean and, where possible, reusable.

E-RYT200 Yoga Certification
