Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse specializing in Infusion therapy to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide expert nursing care to patients requiring IV infusions, including medications, hydration, and specialized treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy. This role involves working in a dynamic clinical environment, utilizing advanced EMR/EHR systems, and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and comfort. Experience with diverse patient populations, including those in outpatient, inpatient, long-term care, and specialty settings such as ophthalmology and geriatrics, is highly valued. The Registered Nurse - Infusion will play a vital role in delivering personalized care aligned with HIPAA regulations and medical best practices.

Duties



Administer IV infusions accurately and safely, including medications, hydration fluids, and specialized therapies like botulinum toxin treatment. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine appropriate infusion plans. Monitor patients during infusion procedures for adverse reactions or complications, providing immediate intervention as needed. Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control protocols during all procedures. Document all nursing interventions thoroughly within EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Educate patients on infusion procedures, post-treatment care, and medication management while ensuring understanding of medical terminology and treatment plans. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across various departments including ICU, emergency medicine, outpatient clinics, hospice & palliative medicine, and behavioral health to coordinate patient care. Manage complex cases involving acute pain management, trauma medicine, infectious disease care, or chronic conditions like dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and medical records management. Participate in discharge planning and case management activities to facilitate smooth transitions of care for post-acute or home care settings.

Experience



Proven experience administering injections and IV insertion with aseptic technique. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is preferred. Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics (neonatal ventilator care), geriatrics (memory care), or patients with disabilities (developmental disabilities). Background in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers is advantageous. Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation techniques including laboratory experience, specimen collection/processing, sonography, and medical imaging is beneficial. Prior experience in outpatient clinics or hospital medicine settings involving complex medication administration and patient assessment is highly desirable. Pay: From $36.00 per hour
