Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Infusion therapy to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing comprehensive infusion services, including IV infusions, medication administration, and patient assessment within a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various nursing specialties, including critical care, hospital medicine, and outpatient care, with proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and adherence to strict infection control protocols. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on delivering exceptional patient-centered care across diverse populations, from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Duties



Administer IV infusions, injections, and medications following aseptic technique and safety standards. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation. Monitor patients' responses to treatments such as botulinum toxin procedures, dialysis, or pain management therapies. Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and record keeping. Educate patients on infusion procedures, post-treatment care, and medication regimens. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as ICU, emergency room, outpatient clinics, or long-term care facilities. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards during all patient interactions. Assist with discharge planning and coordinate follow-up care for patients receiving infusion therapies or post-acute care services. Maintain sterile processing protocols and manage specimen collection/processing when necessary. Provide specialized care for diverse patient populations including those with developmental disabilities, dementia (Alzheimer's/dementia care), or undergoing complex treatments like spinal taps or ostomy care.

Skills



Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Experience administering injections (including venipuncture), catheter care (including Foley and PICC lines), and ventilator management. Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, airway management, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform physical examinations and interpret laboratory results; familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding is advantageous. Strong communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration. Critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma centers preferred; experience with infectious disease care or hospice & palliative medicine is a plus. Knowledge of infection control practices and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Capable of working with diverse populations including pediatrics (neonatal ventilator), geriatrics (memory/dementia care), or behavioral health patients. Pay: From $36.00 per hour
