Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse specializing in infusion therapy to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in patient care, including IV infusion, medication administration, and aseptic techniques, within diverse clinical settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, or long-term care facilities. This role involves providing expert nursing care to patients requiring infusion treatments, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal health outcomes. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, and Athenahealth is preferred. The nurse will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care aligned with HIPAA standards and patient-centered practices.

Duties



Administer IV infusions, injections, and medications following established protocols and aseptic techniques Monitor patient vital signs and assess responses to infusion therapy Educate patients about their treatment plans, including medication administration and potential side effects Maintain accurate medical documentation within EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks Perform patient assessments and physical examinations to determine suitability for infusion procedures Manage catheter care and perform venipuncture or phlebotomy as needed Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed to prevent healthcare-associated infections Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in acute care, outpatient, or long-term settings such as memory care or hospice services Participate in discharge planning and case management for complex patients with chronic conditions or post-acute needs Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of patient information Stay current on medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and updates in ICD coding (ICD-9/10) related to infusion therapy

Experience


Candidates should possess substantial nursing experience across various specialties including but not limited to:

Critical care (ICU, Level I & II Trauma Centers) and emergency medicine Medical-surgical units and hospital medicine departments Geriatrics, memory care, Alzheimer's & dementia care Pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management) and neonatal intensive care units (NICU) Home & community care settings such as home health or assisted living facilities Dialysis centers or infusion clinics specializing in IV infusion therapy Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable Additional skills that enhance candidacy include proficiency in sterile processing, ostomy care, gastrostomy tube feeding, ventilator management, post-operative discharge planning, infection control protocols, and familiarity with Workers' Compensation law. Candidates with training in dermal fillers or esthetic laser treatments are a plus. Prior experience working with diverse populations--including children with special needs or individuals with disabilities--is valued. A valid nursing license and current BLS certification are required.
