Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Patient Care: Deliver hands-on nursing care, including but not limited to, tracheostomy care, enteral feeding and care, foley catheter care, administering medications (oral, injectable, inhalant, and intravenous), monitoring Vital signs, and assisting with daily living activities. Care Coordination: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Patient Advocacy: Act as a primary caregiver and advocate for patients, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting optimal health outcomes. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient care, including changes in health status, medication administration, and communication with family members and healthcare providers. Support for Chronic Conditions: Provide specialized care for patients with chronic illnesses, disabilities, or those recovering from surgery, ensuring they receive the necessary support for their conditions.
Qualifications:

Licensure: Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution. Experience: Prior experience in nursing, particularly in home health or private duty settings, is often preferred.
Skills Required

Clinical Expertise: Strong nursing skills and knowledge of medical procedures and protocols. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and their families. Decision-Making: Ability to make sound clinical decisions independently, often without direct supervision. Compassion and Empathy: A caring attitude and the ability to provide emotional support to patients and their families.
Work Environment:

* Private Duty Nurses typically work in patients' homes, providing extended care during shifts that can last several hours.
