Department Information

Auxiliary Services provides dining and vending services; rental space, housing, and childcare facilities; coordination of conference arrangements; and management of the Occhiato Student Center (OSC), including the Colorado State University Pueblo bookstore. Serving both the University\'s internal and external public, Auxiliary Services supports the University\'s strategic planning goals and objectives in its general operation focus of excellence, intellectual and civic engagement, creative functions and environment, information access, campus life enhancement and positive service.

Description of Job

The Printing and Publications Manager ensures consistent, high-quality printed materials through oversight of the University\'s PAW Print & Copy Center (staffed by 4-5 student workers). The position also serves as lead liaison between the university and all off-campus printers. This position guides campus clients to determine appropriate processes to be used concerning publication quantities, types of paper and design, timelines, and bid procedures.

Primary Duties

Copy Center management

Process, support, design check, print, and finish campus projects.

Edit to ensure accuracy of multiple-up printing.

Complete basic machine maintenance and oversee service technicians.

Make recommendations to the Assistant Director and Director of Auxiliary Services with regard to new machine purchases.

Maintain website and templates. Edit and correct order input on website, as needed.

Maintain budgets, reports, inventory, p-card, cash register, and keys using campus
systems.

Educate campus and create marketing materials to build a campus-wide understanding of services supported by Copy Center.

Support the University brand and partner with MCCR to ensure accuracy of design, logos, and branding.

Off-campus print management/vendor relations

Serve as liaison between printing vendors and the University.

Communicate needs of campus clients to receive bids for projects.

Follow through with vendors to build professional support and community relations in the printing sector.

Lead with edits, colors, and branding guidelines.

Hiring, training, and evaluation of student employees (4-5 student workers)

Maintain current knowledge of student employment rules and implement them properly.

Provide training for all student employees to ensure they are prepared/able to complete all assigned tasks and duties.

Ensure timely/accurate submission of student employee timesheets. Ancillary Duties

  • Serve on University committees as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary Range
$43,000-$55,000

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college or university
OR
Minimum 1 year college and 3+ years of copy center leadership/management * Ability to communicate effectively in writing
  • Experience working in a printing and copy center
  • Experience working in a higher education setting
  • Experience working with marketing and creative professionals to ensure the brand is accurately represented in the printed/copied materials
  • Experience in a position or activity that required excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of persons, units, and organizations internal and external to the organization
  • Experience in a position or activity that required knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud or similar program to edit and strengthen design/format prior to printing
  • Experience in a position or activity that required excellent verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college or university, in a related field such as business, marketing or mass communications
  • Bilingual: English / Spanish
  • Working knowledge of Kuali or similar software program to ensure Colorado Procurement Code and Rules are followed
  • Experience scheduling students and working with Student Financial Services
  • Experience working with consultants in planning, design, and implementation of externally sourced projects
  • Experience with website maintenance to ensure inventory and products are up-to-date
