Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Computer Systems Architect (Level 3 or 4) to join the Compute Integrated Product Team (IPT) of the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) Site 2 program (DS2).
As a Computer Systems Architect you will be a key member of the team responsible for designing and standing up of several high-performance computer environments required for DS2. This role will be reporting to the DS2 Compute IPT lead and work collaboratively with other functional disciplines to design, document and implement a computer system architecture baseline that will meet operational requirements for the system. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundational knowledge of computer systems (i.e., hardware components, applications, operating systems) and be able to collaboratively apply systems engineering principles to successfully define and document the computer system architecture for DS2.
Job Duties:
Collaboratively define and document the computer system design
Define the computer system application configuration and provisioning plan
Determine systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security
Coordinate the design and integration of the DS2 compute environments
Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies
Develop and recommend corrective actions
Interface and collaboration with system administrators, cybersecurity engineers, database managers, and software developers
Basic Qualifications
Active DoD Secret clearance
Level 3/Principal: 5 years with a Bachelors in Science, 3 years with a Masters in Science degree, and 1 years with the PHD
Level 4/Sr. Principal: 8 years with a Bachelors in Science, 6 years with a Masters in Science degree, and 4 years with the PHD
Experience with requirements decomposition and derivation down to hardware subsystem level and hardware component level specifications
Experience with configuring and provisioning RedHat Linux
Familiar with HPE High Performance Computing platforms
Familiar with computer virtualization
VMware product experience (i.e., vCenter, vSphere, NSX, Tanzu, Avi Load Balancer)
Experience with network design, configuration, and management
Familiar with a broad set of commercial hardware system components (i.e., servers, switches, routers, network-attached (storage)
Experience with Atlassian tool sets (JIRA, Confluence)
Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering principles
Ability to travel up to 10% domestically
Ability to travel internationally for up to 3 consecutive months during the deployment phase of the program
Preferred Qualifications
RedHat Certified (System Admin or Engineer)
CompTIA Security + Certification
CompTIA Network + Certification
VMware Data Center Certification
VMware Network Virtualization Certification
Experience working within CAMEO
Experience with Engineering Drawings and Electronic Bill of Materials that drive procurement demands
Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
